Looking for the perfect project to sew before the the end of year holidays? No problem! Here’s a list of 7 perfect christmas sewing patterns for you!
Whether you’re attending a dinner party, a family gathering, or a New Year’s celebration, these quick-to-sew knit sewing patterns for the holidays will not only look amazing, but also guarantee comfort and warmth.
All patterns featured here are intended for knit/stretchy fabric. I recommend checking out my Stretch Percentage Gauge to make sure you select the right fabric!
Given that we want to optimize these patterns for the colder season, I recommend a heavier jersey fabric, rib knit or even ponte di roma. Be careful not to choose too heavy of a fabric for longer and flowy dresses such as the Celeste Frock or the Holly Dress, otherwise it may influence the drape. Anything up to 220-240g/m2 should be safe!
If you want to get a little more sparkly and festive, you should definitely check out glitter/metallic fabric or glossy jersey/lurex fabrics!
My 7 favorite knit sewing patterns for winter:
- Marika Skater Dress by ThisIsKachi
- Celeste Frock by LydiaNaomi
- Manila Bodycon Dress by SewIntoThat
- Wrap Dress Gerd by SewingMachina
- Holly Dress by Dressmaking Amore Patterns
- Freya Gathered Mock Neck by MagicalWeave
- Jasmine Dress by PrimaRimma
I own all these knit sewing patterns except for the Marika Dress and the Jasmine Dress. But being a huge fan of ThisIsKachi and PrimaRimma’s patterns (because they are simply so well explained and beginner-friendly), I have no second thoughts about recommending these 2 patterns despite not having tested them myself.
