Size Chart

This page is designed to help you find the perfect fit for your Sew Into That sewing projects. The key to a well-fitting garment is taking accurate measurements, so follow the guide below to ensure your makes fit beautifully.

Sew Into That garments were designed and then graded based on following measurements:
B: 94cm / W: 76cm / H: 104cm — Height: 172cm (5’6″) — B/C Cup.

Focus on Fit, not on Size Labels

Sizes can vary significantly between different patterns and designers, so always go by your measurements. Remember, size names don’t matter, which is why my sizing chart uses symbols, not numbers. It’s more important to get your measurements right because the goal is to sew a garment that fits you perfectly.

How to take measurements

Accurate measurements are the foundation of a great fit. Always double-check your measurements before starting a new project. Here’s how to measure yourself:

Bust (B): Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape measure parallel to the floor. If you wear a padded bra, I recommend keeping it on!

Waist (W): Measure around the narrowest part of your waist. This is usually just above your belly button.

Hips (H): Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape measure parallel to the floor.

Make sure the tape measure is snug but not too tight, and stand naturally without sucking in your stomach or puffing out your chest. You should be able to fit a thumb between the tape and your body.

Additional tips for a perfect fit

If you are betwen sizes...

Consider grading between sizes. This means blending the pattern lines from one size to another. For example, if your bust is a size S but your hips are a size M, draw a smooth line from the bust size S to the hip size M on the pattern.

Fabric choice matters!

Some patterns will not be suitable for stretchy or non-stretch fabrics. Before you get started with a pattern, please read the fabric recommendations carefully to avoid any bad surprises.

Make a toile first

Consider making a muslin/toile (a test garment) to check the fit before cutting into your final fabric. This is especially important with non-stretch, fitted styles!
